Many of you will be aware that Òran Mór on the corner of Byres Road and Great Western Road, is the former Kelvinside Parish Church. As Rev Pat Lang has written previously, unlike the Belmont Church memorial, the Kelvinside war memorial was unable to be moved on the union of the churches which created our current congregation.

To remember the war dead who gave their lives for us, we will gather to hold a short Service of Remembrance in Òran Mór on Thursday 11 November.

The gathering time will be from 10.30 am onwards. There will then be a short reflection with 2 minutes silence observed at 11am, after which the former church bells will be rung out.

Tea, coffee and chat will follow, courtesy of Òran Mór.

We are very sorry Rev Lang is not in a position to lead the service this year and she will be sadly missed. A small team from KH will lead the way in her absence.

We hope you can manage to come along. Please bring your friends, for all are very welcome.

Additionally, our Remembrance Sunday service will be held in Kelvinside-Hillhead Parish Church on 14th November 2021. We ask you to arrive at the slightly earlier time of 10.50 am so that we are prepared to observe the silence at 11 o’clock.
